We are trying to find a venue that is available for a September 13, 2008 for ceremony & reception up to 200 guests that allows an outside caterer? And ideas?

Southern Rehearsal dinner location

I am trying to find a place for my rehearsal dinner for 25 near downtown Dallas. I want a private room for a thursday night and my future mother in law really wants a southern BBQ feel, but all BBQ places are very, very casual. Upscale places are always steakhouses. Any good ideas for a ranch/BBQ/southern theme?

Empire room or Old Red Courthouse

I'm stuck between these two, very different venues. We're having a classic, black and white wedding, 200 people. The Empire room fits our style better, allows dogs, more helpful so far but is more expensive. The Old Red has more character, better photo opts. and is less expensive but it also has more rules, doesn't fit our theme as well and will take more work to plan (I live in Florida now, so convenience is nice. Anyone heard anything particularly good or bad about either of these venues?
